MoBay City Knights take on Lions Saturday
MONTEGO BAY, St James – MoBay City Knights will seek to end the first round of the Western Basketball Association’s Division Two with a perfect win record on Saturday when they take on City Lions at the Montego Bay Cricket Club.
The game starts at 5:00 pm.
Knights are presently in second place in the points table on four points, one behind Trelawny Tornadoes who have completed their first-round fixtures of three games.
Knights have been out of action for the last two weeks but should be able to get the better of Lions, who are coming off a loss to Tornadoes.
Huntley Duhaney scored 18 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in the win for Tornadoes as they got by Lions 45-38 on Saturday.
Despite being held 8-8 by Lions after the first half, Tornadoes eased ahead at half-time 19-18 and steadily built on their lead as the game progressed, leading by five points (33-28) after three quarters.
Orville Ennis chipped in to assist Duhaney with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Rohan Brown led the scoring for Lions with 17 points, while Floyd Dixon scored nine points and had nine assists and six steals for Lions.
Tomorrow evening defending champions, the undefeated Unique Ballers, will meet Inner-city Lady Avalanche at the Montego Bay Cricket Club in the second game of a double-header as the return round of the Western Basketball Association’s Female Basketball League gets under way.
Prior to the start of this game however the first round will come to an end after Lady Pacers and Naldi Lady Knights meet starting at 6:30 pm.
Unique leads with maximum six points, one more than Lady Avalanche whom they had beaten in the first round, while Pacers and Naldi Lady Knights are still seeking their first win and are tied on two points each.
