On Wednesday she told how she is working with her personal trainer to shed another 20lbs, so she left the flesh-flashing to the likes of Australian model Miranda Kerr, 26, American stunner Marisa Miller, 31, and Brazilian beauty Alessandra Ambrosio.

Musical guest The Black Eyed Peas proved another hit with the crowd. Singer and only female member Fergie wore a black, jewelled bodysuit and came out later in a green corset gown. Of course, fashion really is secondary here. Victoria’s Secret always puts on an elaborate production (this time with a choir, acrobatic dancers and a giant polka-dot dog balloon) and fuels hype about its models.

An online model search started earlier this month and is now down to two contestants, one of whom will be chosen by the public to appear in the televised version of the fashion show that CBS will air December 1.

The supermodel caused outrage by revealing that one of her mottos is the phrase ‘nothing tastes as good as skinny feels’.

The saying is a watchword for millions of anorexics and bulimia sufferers. Moss made the comments in an interview with fashion website WWD.

Nicole Richie ‘doing well’

Nicole Richie is being treated in hospital after falling ill with pneumonia.

The 28-year-old reality TV star admitted herself last night after suffering with a respiratory infection for days.

Her agent said she was ‘doing well’ after receiving treatment at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. On Sunday Nicole Tweeted to her fans that she had been battling illness, writing, “OK cold, it’s been six days. Let’s part ways graciously & keep it moving.”

Nicole, the adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie, gave birth to son Sparrow two months ago.
