Executive Class

Phillip Reynolds, CEO, Caribbean Home Entertainment Ltd and CariHome Supermarket

How many trips do you take a year?

Five or six; usually some to the US and around the Caribbean, and two or three long-haul too.

What is your packing routine?

Last-minute, but very methodical, so I am always well prepared.

What are your must-have carry-ons?

My laptop, though I try to avoid having to work during a flight, and noise-cancelling headphones.

What was your most eventful business trip?

I try to make all my trips eventful, but I do remember once, many years ago, the plane being followed down the runway by a fire engine as we landed.

Do you have an exercise routine?

No

Who was your most memorable seatmate?

Lord Anthony Gifford, a very entertaining man with a great sense of humour.

Do you listen to airline radios?

No.

What is your ideal business destination?

London – for family and friends, or Cape Town (South Africa) for good food and weather.

What is your favourite airport?

Heathrow – Terminal 5

What’s the worst thing about all this travel?

The time wasted in airports.

And the best thing?

A few hours away from my cellphone!

Do you practise any jet-lag-busting activities?

I have been known to be sound asleep before the plane leaves the runway, and not surface until it lands, so I am generally ready to go, whatever the time difference.
