Rihanna sings through a blizzard
Chilly duet: Rihanna and Jay-Z sing through the snow. <br>

Rihanna sings through a blizzard

For most people, the onslaught of snow and freezing temperatures of -6 Celsius would have most dashing indoors for our winter warmers.

Despite wearing a flesh-baring cropped bodice, Rihanna bravely sang her way through a blizzard as she performed during an open-air concert in New York City on Saturday.

Ever the professional, the 21-year-old singer refused to leave the stage as she joined Jay-Z to pre-record a performance for a televised New Year’s Eve special. The pair bravely sang through the blizzard as up to nine and 11 inches of snow landed in the Big Apple.

Rihanna and her mentor Jay-Z were performing for the upcoming New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly, which will be screened next week on US TV network NBC. The singer was her usual flamboyant self in a minuscule black lace bodice, furry jacket and floral hat as she put on an energetic set. At one point, it was clear even the singer was starting to feel the cold as she put on a longer, hooded fur coat over her skimpy attire.

While Americans will be watching Rihanna on their TVs when they welcome 2010, Rihanna will actually be thousands of miles away in Abu Dhabi. Rihanna will play a huge New Year’s Eve concert at the Emirates Palace next week.

Eldest Jonas brother weds

The eldest sibling of pop group the Jonas Brothers and a former hairdresser have married at a French-style chateau in suburban New York.

People magazine reported a heavy snowstorm bore down on Saturday’s wedding of 22-year-old Kevin Jonas and 23-year-old Danielle Delesea at Oheka Castle, a 109,000-square-foot estate in Cold Spring Harbor.

The couple told People that the wedding went on as planned. About 400 relatives and friends attended.

Celebrity event planner Michael Russo created a fairy-tale forest theme that included heated white tents with 14-foot trees and crystals made to look like icicles. Jonas’ brothers Joe and Nick served as his best men.

Slimline Kelly Osbourne shows off her dance-toned legs

Kelly Osbourne is making the most of her new figure as she stepped out in a stripy nautical-flavoured mini skirt which revealed quite a lot of her toned legs.

Kelly, who has kept her short blonde hair-do, has hung on to her trim shape following the dance contest in which she finished third.

And the 25-year-old is clearly keen to show it off, as she stepped out in a more body-conscious look than before. Kelly was out Christmas shopping in Los Angeles following her gruelling schedule on Dancing With The Stars.

She stepped out to buy some last-minute Christmas presents in a tight black and white striped skirt and cropped leather biker jacket.

Red-faced Jessica Simpson braves

She’s practically the blueprint for the all-American girl. Fresh faced and bright eyed and rarely seen looking less than perfect.

Which is why it was so refreshing to see Jessica Simpson stepping out without any make-up on.

The 29-year-old singer was pictured in New York, where she was visiting her sister Ashlee, and was seemingly going for a more natural look than normal.
