Cavalier, Rae Town, Santos win

LOCKSLEY Thompson’s 27th-minute goal gave leaders Cavalier a 1-0 win over Constant Spring to stay two points clear of Rae Town in the Claro/KSAFA Super League yesterday.

In other games, Rae Town defeated Duhaney Park 3-1; Santos beat JDF 2-0; Mountain View scored a similar win over Real Mona; Meadhaven stunned Barbican by the same score, and Bull Bay scored a 2-1 win over Maverley/Hughenden.

At Buttercup Park, Troy Williamson netted twice in two minutes to lift Mountain View to 31 points and his personal tally to 13.

The goals came during the final 10 minutes, although Williamson had earlier missed a penalty on 10 minutes.

Earlier, Sheldon Minott hit the Mountain View post, while Yoan Blake rattled the crossbar.

But with the match heading for a goalless draw, Williamson broke away and flicked the ball past goalkeeper Stefan Plummer. A minute later, he found space and dismissed a defender before scoring.

Moutain View defended stoutly to come away with full points.

At Breezy Castle, James Durrant (11th) and Renel Colley (34th) gave Rae Town a 2-0 lead at the break.

Kambari Dixon (69th) pulled a goal back for the visitors. However, Orlando Walters sealed the win two minute from time.

Santos kept pace with the leaders with their win over JDF at Bell/Chung as Victor Samuels and Damion McCreath scored in the final three minutes.

Meadhaven also surprised Barbican through second-half goals from Tamaro Smith and Omary Edwards.

At Maverley Park, Bevill Grossett and Sheldon Madden scored for Bull Bay against Maverley. Kyrshon Dryden netted for Maverley.

Cavalier lead with 40 points, followed by Rae Town on 38, Santos 34, Mountain View 31, JDF 28 and Constant Spring and Mona 24 each.

In the Major League, Central Kingston remain tops after Devon Johnson’s hat-trick gave them a 3-0 win over Cooreville.

In other games, Rockfort slammed Swallowfield 7-0; Greenwich Town defeated Liguanea 7-1; UWI turned back Whitfield Town 4-0; Olympic Gardens edged Brown’s Town 2-1, while Molynes and Police drew 0-0.

At Tinson Pen, Ricardo Munro, David Stultz and Kevin Bartley scored twice and Christopher Stewart once, as Greenwich routed Liguanea, for whom Ricardo Robertson scored.

At Vauxhall, Jermaine Freckleton and Roger Brown netted braces and Twaine Winter, Roger Nelson and Jason Knight a goal each as Rockfort mauled Swallowfield.

UWI, through goals from Kenrick Brown, Anthony Grant, Brandon Thomas and Owen Hill comfortably saw off Whitfield.

Adrian Kitson got both goals in Olympic’s win over Brown’s Town. Dwayne Byfield scored for Brown’s Town.

Central Kingston lead the standings with 33 points, three more than Rockfort. Police follow with 26 points, UWI 23 and Greenwich 21.
