Richards and Parkins vie for netball presidency
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Eglan ‘longlife’ Richards and Clint Parkins will today outline their visions for netball in St James as they vie for the presidency of the association that governs the game in the parish.
Myrtle Wedderburn, secretary of the St James netball Association, confirmed that the two men would challenge current president of the St James Netball Association Winsome Barnes on February 20, when the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at the Montego Bay Cricket Club. The presentations — a requirement of all candidates vying for the top office — will be made at this afternoon’s Junior and Senior league awards ceremony at the Montego Bay Cricket Club. They will not be allowed to run over 5 minutes.
Parkins is the coach of the Angels teams that compete in the Senior League while Richards is the current treasurer who will be making his second try for the post of president after losing to Barnes in the last election.
Each affiliated club is entitled to two votes while each school will have one vote.
