Mel B and Eddie Murphy ‘back on speaking terms’

Eddie Murphy has been a notable absence in his youngest daughter Angel’s life since her birth three years ago.

But after years of estrangement, it appears Murphy and Mel B have finally put their differences behind them for the sake of their daughter. The former couple stunned Hollywood yesterday when they both turned up with their respective families to the LA premiere of Murphy’s new film Shrek Forever After. While the pair weren’t photographed together, it was the first time they’ve been seen in the same place since their high-profile split in 2006.

Along with Angel, Mel B posed with eldest daughter Phoenix Chi, 11, on the green carpet with husband Stephen Belafonte, who was holding hands with Angel. Meanwhile, Murphy was surrounded by his seven oldest children from previous relationships — Bria and Eric, 21, Christian, 20; Miles, 18; Shayne, 16; Zola, 11, and Bella, eight. Murphy, 49, and Brown, 34, are back on speaking terms after encouragement from the actor’s ex-wife Nicole Mitchell.

Mitchell, who has five children with the comedian, struck up a friendship with Brown soon after Angel’s birth because she wanted her kids to know their half-sister. The actor and ex-Spice Girl are rumoured to have only just reconciled, with Murphy inviting her to a party at his Los Angeles home earlier this month. A source told the New York Daily News: “While promoting Shrek Forever After, Eddie talked a lot about his kids. Ever since, he’s been making efforts with Mel to get to know their daughter. Brown and Murphy started dating in June 2006 — two months after the actor divorced ex-wife Nicole Mitchell. But the comedian stunned the then five-month pregnant Brown when he called off their relationship while she was visiting her mother’s home in Leeds.

Jennifer Lopez’s racy maxi dress at Monaco Grand Prix

With the drama unfolding on the race track, little would give the teams of spectators cause to avert their eyes from the main attraction.

But stunning Jennifer Lopez, 40, provided one such distraction as she came out to watch the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, squeezing her famous curves into an extremely low-cut maxi dress. The mother of two still managed to look classy, though, by opting to flash the flesh on top, but keeping her legs firmly covered up in the long flowing white patterned ensemble. She teamed the outfit with a headscarf and sunglasses and looked the quintessential starlet as she posed for photographs alongside husband Marc Anthony and Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone. Earlier in the week, the couple were pictured enjoying a boat ride together in nearby Nice, where they were staying on the yacht of Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli. But today the pair were off the Mediterranean waters with their feet firmly on the ground to join in with the celebrations following the race, which was won by Australian Mark Webber.

The Beckhams turn up to watch the Jonas Brothers… but everyone else was watching THEM

Attending a concert full of hundreds of screaming girls, the Beckhams probably hoped that no one would pay them the blindest bit of attention.

But as Victoria and David know only too well, wherever they go, so do the photographers, who seemed to pay more attention to them than the Jonas Brothers on stage. The couple took their three sons — Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, seven, and five-year-old Cruz to the Grove shopping centre in Los Angeles yesterday to watch the trio who were performing a free concert for their fans. And while the family may have been hoping to blend into the crowd, they were soon spotted arriving at the shopping centre and being shown to a prime spot overlooking the stage. Even the Jonas Brothers fans know a top celebrity when they see one, and they soon diverted their attention away from their pin-ups to snap the famous family.
