Tech 5

This week’s Tech 5

Transformers: War for Cybertron

Developed by High Moon Studios and designed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, Transformers: War for Cyberton is a 3rd person high-action shooter game that allows the player to play as a transformer in the era prior to their coming to Earth. War for Cybertron has several multiplayer modes to choose from; escalation, death-match, team death-match, conquest, countdown to extinction, power struggle and code of power.

The game also allows for players to create their own transformer based on the class they wish to play. The setting is the planet Cybertron before contact is made with the planet Earth and the native sentient beings are at war with each another.

A group of robots have split off of the main faction to become Decepticons under their leader, Megatron, while the leader of the Autobots, Zeta Prime, is killed leaving behind an inexperienced leader, Optimus, who must lead his forces to prevent Megatron from finding the legendary dark Energon.

Dream Chronicles: The Book of Air

The Book of Air is a casual adventure game created by KatGames for a Windows platform and is the fourth of the Dream Chronicles series. The Book of Air is the first game of the second trilogy of Dream Chronicles games called Lyra’s Destiny, in which the player plays the part of Lyra, Faye’s daughter.

The game is based on Lyra being alone in her beloved town of Wish, so the player is trying to get Lyra back home and reunite with her family and friends. The game allows players to easily go back and forth 14 scenes of The Book of Air by using the Fidget’s airship as well as make fairy things come alive.

There are also two difficulty modes to play, casual and challenge and each mode has the same puzzles but their complexities are different.

NCAA Football

Developed by EA Sports, this video game is a series in which you play as or against any current Division I FBS college team and is designed for PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, iPhone and iPod touch platforms. This year’s version was all about details, such as the forming of a realistic pocket around the quarterback and linebackers, as well as new strategic elements for game planning.

Players also get the opportunity to go head-to-head with some of the top schools. Now although the game has not been released as yet, potential players can get started creating their own team before, on the TeamBuilder website which lets you create your school online.

Green Day: Rock Band

Announced by Harmonix and MTV games, this game is a three part harmony game that allows players to take on the role of rock trio Green Day, which includes Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals/guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tre Cool (Drums).

Players also have the opportunity to unlock hundreds of collectible images and forty minutes of rare video and performances as they work through Green Day’s 20-plus-year career. The forthcoming music game, with 47 tracks and designed for Xbox 360, Wii and PS3, has found its way into the musical world of gaming and is said to be a hit for not only regular gamers, but also for those who are very interested in the band Green Day.

The Clash of the Titans

Based on the Warner Bros picture and designed for the Xbox 360 and PS3 gaming consoles, The Clash of the Titans is an action and adventure video game developed by Game Republic that allows the player to assume the role of Perseus who is caught in the epic battle between Zeus and Hades.

The God of the Underworld, Hades, summoned an army of monsters to destroy the Earth, and both Zeus and Perseus are trying to find a way to stop him. In the game, there are over 100 monsters to fight and Perseus will travel through different environments with customable weapons. The game also offers the single player mode and the multiplayer mode.
