The tenth annual CFW (Caribbean Fashionweek) which took place in Kingston last weekend, brought together a host of local and internationally acclaimed fashion designers, supermodels and celebrities alike. We share with our AW readers today the work of two designers who graced the CFW catwalk at its premier staging in 2001 — Earl ‘Biggy’ Turner and Jackie ‘Mutamba’ Cohen.

2620 – We’ve heard of wearing your heart on your sleeves, but wearing your sleeves on your thighs? That’s a new one… and fashionably so.

2681 – Biggy certainly put an alluring twist on the traditional LBD with sheer fabric, faux snakeskin and button detailing.

2914 – Crystal looks every bit the ‘bad girl’ in this stylish, close-fitting denim jacket and high-waisted shorts.

2587 – Don’t you just love this get-up? We’re definitely feeling the futuristic vest, and the ‘buttoned-up’ mini is also rather cute. Genuine African jewellery by Mutamba adds a touch of culture to this dancehall-inspired look.

2780 – What could possibly be sexier than a simple lace LBD? Dress it up with metallic accessories like these teardrop earrings and silver wire bracelets by Mutamba.

3099 – Dancehall glam is just one of the things this skin-tight denim jumper brings to mind. Keneisha wears it with a floral halter midriff top, silver jewellery and platform gladiator sandals for additional dancehall flavour.

Biggy Pg 2 – Hanna-Kay definitely sizzles in this draped, golden off-the-shoulder dress. Diva-licious!

2557 – This might come as a surprise, but contrary to the look, this jeans-and-khaki number isn’t just a regular skirt and top, it’s actually a dress. Inventive, isn’t it?

2844 – Every woman loves to feel classy and sexy, and this lacy, knee-length purple dress can do exactly that. Plus Hanna-Kay definitely wears it well. Kudos to Biggy for this ultra-hot outfit!
