The Wrap Skirt
Rock the Cloth
Versatile pieces are best when they can be worn not only with different items, but for different occasions. One such piece is a wrap skirt, which either long or short can be worn for different occasions: from casual to corporate.
This week we feature a wrap skirt that is styled for different looks.
Steps:
1. Cut:
a. Skirt back pieces (2)
b. Front pieces (2)
c. Waistband
2. Join skirt at:
a. Centre back and
b. At side seams.
3. Attach interfacing to waistband, then attach it to the skirt.
4. Finish edges and hem.
5. Attach closings (buttons or hooks)
Style variations may be achieved by:
o Making the waistband with ties instead of the use of closures.
o Inserting (inside) pockets or external ones.
o Varying the width and or length.
