Michael Jackson’s parents to divorce after 60 years of marriage

Michael Jackson’s parents are set to divorce after 60 years of marriage, after the King of Pop’s mother Katherine became tired of her husband Joe’s cruel behaviour.

The pair became estranged five years ago, and live apart, but the family matriarch reportedly decided to file for divorce after Joe, 81, suggested she was to blame for their son’s shock death last year. Jackson, who was accused of abusing Michael as a child, said in June: “I begged her to go over and stay with him, but she insisted he needed his privacy.” Katherine retaliated, saying through her spokesperson: “Joe Jackson’s statement and conduct toward Mrs Jackson are outrageous.” Referring to the abuse of their children, the spokesperson then said: “The world also knows who Joe Jackson is and he seems bent on never letting us forget.” According to the Daily Star, she considered the attack as the final straw.

Katherine has sole custody of her late son’s three children: Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and Blanket, 8, in Encino, California while Joe resides in Las Vegas. Despite already being separated, Katherine was said to be reluctant to officially end the marriage because as a Jehovah’s Witness she does not believe in divorce.

The couple is parents to nine children including Jackson 5 members Michael, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon, married in November 1949 and have 26 grandchildren. They put on a united front to support Michael during child abuse accusations against him and mourned side by side at his funeral after his death in June last year, aged 50. In 2007, Michael accused his father — who he does not mention in his will — of beating him when he was a child.

New bride Hilary Duff looks radiant in the first official wedding picture

Hilary Duff shows off her beaming wedding day smile in the first official picture from last Saturday’s nuptials. The 22-year-old Lizzie McGuire star looked stunning as she posed for this week’s cover of OK Magazine just moments before she walked down the isle to wed NHL player Mike Comrie.

“It feels wonderful to be married,” the star said after the ceremony. Exchanging vows under an arch of white roses, surrounded by 100 close friends and family during their sunset wedding ceremony, it seems Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie’s wedding couldn’t have been more perfect. In the first picture of the pair’s weekend wedding, Hilary is seen wearing a stunning long white strapless Vera Wang dress, with her hair swept up into a bun and an ethereal veil attached, while Mike dons a traditional black tuxedo. She enlisted celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss, whose previous clients include Jessica Simpson, Gwen Stefani and Adam Sandler, to help plan the ceremony. According to reports in Thursday’s New York Post, Hilary and her new husband completed their official step to becoming husband and wife by signing a pre-nuptial agreement. But, surprisingly, it wasn’t Hilary requesting the contract. Although Hilary made millions from her show Lizzie Mcguire, as well as several films and albums, her new husband is heir to an estimated $500-million fortune.

Tattoo artist Kat Von D confirms she is dating Sandra Bullock’s ex Jesse James

After claiming through reps that they were “just good friends”, 28-year-old tattoo artist LA Ink owner Kat Von D has confirmed to the world that she is dating Sandra Bullock’s cheating ex-husband, Jesse James. And in true Hollywood style, she did it via Twitter.

This news comes after the pair was spotted enjoying a romantic dinner date in Las Vegas last weekend. At the time, reps for the couple denied any romance. “They did have dinner, but they are just friends, they’ve always remained good friends, but there is no romance there with Jesse.” Kat’s representative told People magazine. This statement was now obviously a cover-up and sources told People magazine that the pair in fact travelled to Las Vegas together in Jesse’s car and even shared a hotel room.

James, whose divorce from Sandra Bullock was finalised in June, was seen sitting next to Kat on Saturday night as they ate steak in Palms Casino Resort’s N9NE in Vegas. They were seen holding hands towards the end of their meal and as they left the restaurant. They both then headed to a black Mercedes, which was driven by James, according to People. Actress Sandra Bullock, 45, split from James after five years of marriage in April following reports of an 11-month relationship with tattoo model Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee.
