Diabetes walk on Sunday
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Organisers of the second Tour de Life and 5k walk being staged by We Are One People Foundation and the MoBay COMETS Athletics Club set for Sunday morning are expecting a better turnout than last year’s first staging.
Myrtle Wedderburn who is a member of the organisation told the Observer West that while entries so far has been slower than expected, they are confident they will surpass last year’s turn out.
Entries will be accepted up to 6:00 am, half hour before the start of the walk.
The event that has been endorsed by the Jamaica Tourist Board will start from the AqualSol Beach, proceed along Howard Cooke Boulevard to the Freeport Police station and back to AquaSol.
Each walker will get a free Blood Sugar kit and part proceeds of the event will be donated to diabetics in need of help.
