Well-deserved praise for Oneil Ankle
Dear Editor,
I am always impressed with Jean Lowrie-Chin’s way of putting the right people into perspective. I refer in particular to her August 23 column, “Far from perfect, but not the worst”. One of those she mentioned, Mr Oneil Ankle, is a very unique Jamaican who deserves all the accolades bestowed on him. He is certainly a quality Jamaican. He was my lecturer at GC Foster College before he started his present quest. I have been reading Mrs Lowrie Chin’s articles as long as I can remember – maybe only a few I haven’t read. It’s always a joy to read how she writes on topical issues.
The fear that engulfs us can be quelled if we try to support the police in the endless search for the callous and brutal killers who are creating mayhem in our society. A friend of mine told me his brother lives in a scheme close to where the recent killings took place at Tredegar Park in St Catherine. My friend told me when her brother heard the shooting they all started to pray, preparing to go home to their Jesus. My brother who lives near the community told me that when he was inside his house he heard all the shots.
