WISYNCO Group clipped Wray & Nephew 1-0 in the final of the 2010 Scotiabank Group-sponsored Kingston & St Andrew Business House Football Knockout Competition last Saturday at the UWI Bowl, Mona.

Both teams started the game in an attacking mode and good goalkeeping from Wray & Nephew’s Julian McLeish prevented Kevin Mighty, Girvon Brown and Calbert Coke from scoring.

Wisynco’s Kelso Cousin was also busy between the sticks, as he also prevented Richardo Robinson, Ozane Christie, Glen Simms and Damone Whittaker from finding the net. The half ended goalless.

Wisynco took the lead in the 52nd minute after Mighty was fouled in the box by Lancelot Edwards, and they were awarded a penalty. Their leading goalscorer for the season, Girvon Brown, stepped up and easily shot past a diving McLeish in goal.

Wisynco defended stoutly for the remainder of the match to win their first major title in the Business House Football competition. Both teams will meet again today at the same venue in the Division Two final at 2:00 pm.
