Styling with: Denyque

She’s one of the young starlets who has her eyes fixed on becoming the next best thing on the Jamaican music scene. With tracks like Summer Love, Hooked on Me and Juggling Hearts earning steady on-air rotation, things are looking up for 20-year-old Denyque Dontré.

Hand in hand with her music are her striking features and an acute sense of style. “My interest in fashion began a few years ago through the influence of my best friend, Jodi Ann. Over the years it has developed into what I now call an eclectic mix of fresh, sexy and chic,” she told the Observer.

So how does that translate into a Denyque ensemble? “A typical outfit could be grey, ripped short shorts. a studded belt and purple shirt, completed with Red pumps,” Denyque explained.

When retail therapy is required, she hits Closet Therapy, which she explains, provides her with the pieces she requires to complete a look.

Right now her favourite piece is a black and white strapless tube dress, which she says is made of an amazing fabric with offers nothing but comfort and caresses the curves. And, as a confessed shoe junkie, Denyque says her fav pair is her red pumps by her shoe designer of choice, Aldo. Despite this, the young songbird says she rocks any pair of shoes — stilettos, wedges, flats or sandals — once it goes with her outfit and is classy.

These days Denyque splashes Britney Spears’ Fantasy, a fragrance she fell in love with some time a go and it keeps working for her.
