JustBet Five-A-Side football semis on today
DEFENDING champions Tank-Weld Metals and Peak Bottling Company Limited will meet in Division One semi-final of the JustBet-sponsored Business House Five-A-Side Football competition today at the NWC playing field, Mona, starting at 5:30 pm.
Tank-Weld Metals clipped their opponents 1-0 in preliminary match and a closely contested match is expected again. The star-studded Tank-Weld team is made up of mostly Waterhouse FC Digicel Premier League players and they will be led by goalkeeper Richard McCallum, Kenardo Forbes, Jonathan Williams, Theo Brown, and the Boys’ Town pair of Carlos Wright and Kenardo Smith.
The Peak Bottling starting team will consist of mostly players from Super League team Mountain View — Troyland Williams, Dujon Murphy, Fabian Cooke, Jerome Gayle, and Waterhouse’s Under-20 goalkeeper Jovell Plunkett will try to get their team in their first Division One final.
The other Division One semi-final will see former champions Scotiabank Group and Jamaica Broilers meeting at 6:30 pm. The Bankers will rely on the Humble Lion pair of goalkeeper Damion Crooks and Ajuran Brown, along with Damion Gordon from Tivoli Gardens FC, Akeem Themstead, Donovan Hibbert and Nicholas McCreath for victory.
Jamaica Broilers will look to captain Glenroy Levy, Jason Grant, Mark Belto, Dowen Brown, David Lewis, and Shawn Lee for their second victory over Scotiabank this season. They defeated them 2-0 in the preliminary round.
The Division Two semi-finals will see Telecom Installation and Maintenance Services playing Lasco Group at 5:30 pm and National Water Commission meeting Island Grill at 6:30 pm.
Both finals will be played next Saturday at the same venue.
