FLEXXING with.. Khago
KHAGO, undeniably has been one of the break-out stars of 2010. This incognito individual has not been a fan of the spotlight prior to his ‘buss’. But now being the centre of attention, he has been working not only on the establishment of his name, but also on his appearance.
A lover of bright colours, he is moving swiftly up the charts with his singles Cyaan Cool, and the 2010 break-out hits Nah Sell Out: Parts One and Two. He has also been thrilling audiences with his vibrant colour combinations.
Born Ricardo Gayle, in Jones Town, Kingston but raised in Manchester and St Ann, Khago decided to pursue a musical career after he left Craighead All-Age School in Manchester and continuously followed a friend, who was also on a musical pursuit.
Even though he did not get the opportunity to further his education by going to high school, he was determined to be successful.
“Music saved me,” he says and though he originally he wanted to become a carpenter or indulde in a career, which involved building, while experimenting he did not find his passion.
He then began deejaying professionally in 2006 after entering the JCDC popular song competition in 2006 and 2007 placing third and second respectively, and he also sang background vocals for I-Octane.
Khago is also in high demand on the international scene, with tours to England, USA, Italy and Japan planned for early next year. He currently has a new single with Beenie Man entitled Want A Search and the music video will be shot soon as well as for his other track Nah Sell Out Pt 2 and White Tees and Addidas.
He was also recently signed by Caribbean communation giant LIME as an ambassador and thinks his clean music is an accomplishment that he is very proud of.
As he continues to give thanks for each day, he applauds his management team and will continue working with his fans as what they want is what he will produce.
Look out for him on Sting’s big stage in December and other stage shows such as Rebel Salute and his new song entitled I Wish.
