Stars R Us pays respects to Gregory
THE local music fraternity, friends and fans of Gregory Isaacs are expected inside Kingston’s Mas Camp this Saturday, December 4 to pay respects to the reggae crooner, the late Gregory Isaacs.
“Gregory had a particular liking for Stars R Us as he said it keep the vintage artiste busy,” said Horse Man, CEO for Stars R Us. The theme for the night will be red and white. According to the promoter, this tribute show was only fitting considering Isaacs’ 23 dazzling displays on the Stars R Us stage.
Horse Man notes that Isaac’s long-standing close friend, John Holt will lead the charge of performers which includes Leroy Sibbles, Pat Kelly, Johnny Clarke, Nikki Dillon, George Nooks, Josey Wales, Derrick Morgan, Tinga Stewart, Ernest Wilson, and Carl Dawkins.
He notes that his show is shaping up to be one of the best Stars R Us productions.
The tribute to Gregory will see the first 2000 paying patrons receiving a free Gregory Isaacs colour poster.
Lloyd Parks & We The People Band will back the top-quality line-up, while Bob Clarke from Irie FM and Camile will host the event. Isaac’s fans will hear an exclusive mixture of different Gregory Isaacs songs, which will be played by the Cutting Edge master Mutabaruka. At mid-night, there will be a moment of silence remembering Gregory.
