Claro roadshow excites Mandeville
MANDEVILLE came alive as the ‘Clarorific’ Roadshow set up its stage in the Mandeville Park last Saturday night.
With DJ Chrome the wheels of steel, drawing crowds as if he were the Pied Piper, coupled with giveaways by MC Teddie, the people of Mandeville had a treat. At 6:00 pm, Chris Money, Terro Blacks and Mr Kool kicked off the evening with different genres of music, ranging from hiphop, dancehall and reggae. These artistes received a warm welcome too as they are well known in the community, with catchy lyrics and clean content, they were able to win over their audience.
One of the standout acts for the evening was 10-year-old Kabookie Reid, who delivered two songs, and was taken off stage, that was not enough for the crowd who cheered him on for more lyrics. He delivered his ABC song, the people of Mandeville egged him on for more, but there were more acts for the evening.
As the show progressed, the people of Mandeville were sent into a frenzy when Wasp came on stage; with his popular intro “Attack, Attack!” He commanded their attention with his lyrics, raspy voice and positive vibes. He was not to be outdone, as artistes like Macka Diamond, Munga Honourebel and Mr G came up on stage and hypnotised the already weak audience to their will. Macka Diamond and her “Money O” call unnerved the female audience and they joined her on stage to dance with Dancehall Queen 2004 Latesha, for the Hoola Hoop. Munga brought the house down and collaborated with Mr G on popular dancehall rhythms.
The evening was coloured in red as Claro giveaways were rampant. Claro representatives stood on stage and handed out ‘Clarorific’ gifts. There was a Claro dealer who had special ‘Clarorific’ deals; the audience could get free handsets, if they purchased credit that ranged from $500 to $1500.
