Pay teachers
Dear Editor,
For many years the nation’s educators have been working and getting low salaries, yet they have to be parents, counsellors, caregivers, etc. As we know, they lobby the government for outstanding money and also salary increase. I do believe they should be better paid.
It is not fair for some civil servants who don’t get an increase to endure grave problems. I suggest that the government have an inspectorate examine teachers to see where the problem rests and fix it before it is too late.
Some teachers with whom I have spoken say that money is not the end game; the students are their main concern and are at the centre of their hearts. It is really wonderful to know that some educators are working on behalf of the nation’s greatest assets – our children.
