Artistes looking forward to Jagra GT Taylor Christmas Extravaganza
Jagra GT Taylor Christmas Reggae Extravaganza will showcase talented artistes from the music industry. The annual event takes place on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25 at Independence Park, Black River boasting an incredible line-up unlike any other for the season. I-Octane and Gyptian have brought a welcomed energy and difference to Reggae music, which has been demonstrated both locally and internationally, and promise high energy and a great vibe on Christmas Day.
Windel Beneto Edwards more popularly known as Gyptian, earned his place on stage after winning a talent search in 2004. Songs such as Is There a Place, Beautiful Lady, and Mama, Don’t Cry etched the name Gyptian in minds of reggae lovers. Described as a roots reggae-act, this sensational artiste has a firm grip on the music scene thanks to the crossover single Hold Yuh from the Billboard charting album of the same name.
There is no doubt Gyptian will bring this same level of dedication and passion to his craft, to the Jagra GT Taylor Christmas Reggae Extravaganza stage.
I-Octane, born Byiome Muir, is one of the most exciting artistes to grace the entertainment scene. Lose A Friend and My Life, still command huge forwards at stage shows and any entertainment event where his music is played. His most recent single Puff It is an infectious tune that demonstrates yet again how powerful I-Octane is, and currently sits atop charts in the Bahamas, Antigua and Canada.
I-Octane says that his participation in the Jagra GT Taylor Christmas Reggae Extravaganza is only a thank you to his fans and also to GT who he says has supported his career from the first day. “GT Taylor always supports young artistes. He was one of the first persons to promote me and said that I would be a star,” says I-Octane; and that he is. According to I-Octane, his fans can expect a “high-energy performance” on Christmas Day.
Warrior King, another artiste on the bill is also looking forward to performing on stage Christmas night.
The singer who topped reggae charts both locally and abroad earlier this year with the hit single I Wanna Give You Love, said he plans to deliver an extra special performance for his fans at this event.
“I plan to give my fans a very special performance at GT’s show because its not very often I get to perform in Jamaica because I am always so busy performing abroad,” said Warrior King.
Colin ‘Iley Dread’ Levy has flown in just for this occasion. The singer who has had popular tracks such as Flowers In My Garden, Are You Sure and his latest single Lover’s Holiday says he can’t wait to reconnect with his Jamaican fans.
Christmas Day in St Elizabeth will not be one to miss not only because of Gyptian and I-Octane, but also the other acts on the bill such as Lady Saw, Mavado, Romain Virgo, Khago, D’Angel, Chuck Fenda, Kiprich, Blak Ryno and Charly Blacks.
