SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — MOUNTAINSIDE jumped atop the St Elizabeth Football Association Wray and Nephew-sponsored Major League following their 1-0 win over New Holland FC at New Holland in last Sunday’s set of matches.

The win moved Mountainside to ten points, three more than Black River who beat Young Brazil 4-2 at New Town while Braes River, who were beaten 1-0 by Mountainside in their last outing on December 8, beat Burnt Ground 2-0 at the Santa Cruz Community Centre in the other games on Sunday.

Appleton recorded the biggest victory margin for the weekend and their first win with a 4-0 thrashing of Treasure Beach. Vineyard registered a 2-1 win over Parottee.

Super Action, winners over former champions Tafari Lions in a midweek encounter last week, were in third place on seven points as of Sunday. Vineyard were next on six points alongside Braes River who have a game in hand.

Appleton, New Holland and Tafari Lions were all on four points.
