FOURTEEN-TIME champion trainer Philip Feanny, now multiple Classic winning breeder, captured another title in racing at Caymanas Park when he topped the Alex’s Dig Out Handicap Series after 37 races with 97 points and earned a premium bonus payout of $20,000.

This was announced at the Trainers Room last Tuesday where the prizes for winners in the Alex Imports Dig Out Handicap Series were declared at a CTL press launch to announce details for the upcoming Fan Appreciation New Year’s Day programme on Saturday.

Feanny, who is fifth among the leading trainers in stakes earned for 2010, had the better of sixth-placed Ryan Darby, who finished second on 92 points and earned $10,000. Richard Azan was three points away third on 89.

Winners of each category earned $20,000, with runners-up pocketing $10,000.

Raphael Gordon took the owners’ section with 82 points, six more than Carl Anderson, who finished second on 86, with Elite Bloodstock Limited garnering 53 points for third.

The leading jockey was injured claiming apprentice Aaron Chatrie with 29 points, while Panamanian jockey Dick Cardenas was second on 97 points and champion apprentice Doushane Gordon took third spot with 36.

Everton Russell was the leading groom with 59 points, with Calvin Letford nosing out Keith Johnson by a point on 46 to win the grooms’ category.
