Seba battling to stay on top
MT PELIER, Hanover — After being held goalless by strugglers Bamboo on Tuesday, leaders Seba United will seek to get back to winning ways this Sunday when they travel to Mt Pelier for a Jamaica Football Federation’s Captain’s Bakery and Grill Western Confederation Super League first round game, starting at 3:00pm.
The leaders dropped points for only the second time this season, but will be seeking to extend their three-game winning streak against the Hanover team who are seven points and four places below them in the standings.
Seba are atop the league with 20 points from eight games, while Mt Pelier are on 13 from seven games. The latter have conceded nine goals in their last three meetings with Seba United.
Wadadah, in second place, a point behind the leaders, will be home to promoted Russia who are coming off a 5-0 thrashing from Granville at home.
Frome FC, in third place, will be seeking their first win over the struggling Catherine Hall when they meet at Frome.
Former two-time champions Granville, with back- to-back wins for the first time this season will hope to turn the tables on Bamboo, having lost twice to the Hanover-based club last season.
