New Green top Georges Valley in Manchester Major League

PORUS, Manchester — New Green recovered from their shock opening round defeat with a comfortable 3-0 win over Georges Valley in the Captain’s Bakery and Grill/Manchester Major League at the weekend.

New Green were upset 1-0 by newcomers Comfort in last weekend’s opener, but a commanding performance against Georges Valley have put them back on track.

Leroy Palmer gave them the lead with a 25th-minute strike, while second-half goals from Christopher Lucas and Kashwayne Miller secured the points.

In other games, Cleon Barrett hit a late winner as Porus pipped Kendal 1-0 at the Porus Community Centre, while Hillstars edged past Starliner 2-1 with goals from Kenroy Mullings and Cannon Richards.
