Body, Mind and Wellness
Sex therapist and radio talk-show<br />host Dr Karen Carpenter

Body, Mind and Wellness

In this new age of keeping healthy, when “wellness” is a buzzword bandied about with much frequency. Bella Oasis Day Spa has answered the call of wellness seekers. The Spa since its opening a year ago has hosted monthly Wellness Gatherings that features speakers who address a variety of interesting topics that to date have ranged from nutrition to ageing with a positive outlook.

Patrons attending the gathering are seated in the Bella Garden, an area cordoned off with picket-like fences to the left of the spa’s building. Guests, spa manager Daniella Morales informs, tend to be primarily women (though a sprinkling of men do turn up) and are treated to light refreshments and nibbles.

“Our aim is to expose the public to a variety of issues and educate them to develop a better understanding of how to incorporate wellness into their daily living,” the spa manager tells Under the Dryer.

She adds that the spa also hosts a “SatDay Yoga” class each Saturday morning in the garden, and new visitors to the wellness gatherings are also offered a tour of the spa and shown its amenities.

January’s wellness gathering is slated to be held a day earlier than usual — next Tuesday, January 25. Sex therapist and radio talk show host Dr Karen Carpenter is the scheduled speaker.
