JJ Foote re-elected as AAAJ president
THE Advertising Agency Association of Jamaica (AAAJ) has re-elected Arnold ‘JJ’ Foote for a third consecutive term as president.
The election was held at the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held recently.
Foote, in a press release, expressed that he looks forward to serving the AAAJ again and explained that the organisation aims to build on the success of the past, including strengthening relations with the Media Association of Jamaica, as well as non-affiliated media houses and other entities associated with the industry. This is being done with a view to improve standards and better serve agency clients, he said.
He said that the AAAJ has on its annual calendar the Creative Awards 2011, the recognition for agency creative work for 2010 and the Media of the Year Awards. There will also be training seminars and other unique initiatives that will impart the all-important message that having an accredited agency is central to the growth of any business.
Foote added that it is significant that all corporations and small businesses choose an accredited agency to create holistic campaigns for them to improve their business.
“The AAAJ wants to encourage business owners (who do not have a recognised advertising agency), to consider having a strong agency supporting your company, guiding you through the processes, from the strategic development through to the media activation. These are things that can positively affect the growth of your company. Within the AAAJ there is an agency that is the ‘right fit’ for you,” Foote shared.
The AAAJ is in its 50th year and will be officially celebrating their anniversary in 2012.
The AAAJ also elected a new executive body at the AGM. The new executive body includes Foote as president; Wayne Stewart, vice president; Michael Grant, treasurer; Janet Creary, secretary; and Andrew Rousseau, past president. Sebastian Ogden, Oral McCook, Sheldon Neil and Patrick Howlett are Council members.
