Bunny Wailer, Charlie Chaplin, Colin Levy for Negril concert
THE legendary Bunny Wailer, the only surviving member of the original Wailers, which included Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, will headline Money Cologne Birthday Bash in Negril on Saturday, February 12, at Jamaica Tamboo in Negril.
Taking place on what is recognised as Valentine’s weekend, the concert is a tribute to Eggie, the late son of the promoter but it will also recognise the day that is set aside for love.
The concert will therefore also feature veteran dancehall act, Charlie Chaplin, Canada-based singer, Colin Levy, along with artistes such as Ras Noble, Swallow Wiskey Bagio, Sugar Dee, Marvelous and Ackee Man.
Three-time Grammy winner, Bunny Wailer, has an extensive catalogue and makes no haste in sharing his songs with his audience. Jah B, as he is affectionately called, is expected to turn in another huge performance.
One of Jamaica’s most respected artistes, Chaplin mixes up styles, singing or toasting as he pleases. His lyrics can be biting and humorous or thoughtful and provocative, covering sex, spirituality and violence.
Colin Levy, formerly known as Iley Dread, is currently promoting Lover’s Holiday, the single from his soon-to-be-released album, Unleashed. Levy, a singer, songwriter, producer and CEO of Kings of Kings label, agreed that his single is the perfect fit for the February 12 event.
The bands on stage will be the Solomic Orchestra and Hyah Grade, while emcee duties will be handled by Rev’d BB and Pockadot. Showtime is 9:00 pm.
