Doug Gore shifts up to Audi

JAMAICAN super speedster Doug ‘Hollywood’ Gore has shifted gears and joined forces with ATL Automotive in an exclusive partnership that will see the famed driver speeding to victory in the world’s fastest-growing premium car brand, Audi.

Gore, a prolific racer for over 20 years, traded in his old Mitsubishi for a high velocity Audi upgrade, revealing it was time for a change and in the spirit of competitiveness, had to go with the best.

“Audi has always been a dominant force in the history and progression of racing. When the Audi Quattro was launched, it was virtually unbeatable and is one of the top cars in the chronicles of motorsports,” Gore commented.

Admittedly an Audi fan, Gore’s admiration for the vehicle was however sealed following a recent Q5 SUV test drive, where he attempted his signature ‘donut’ manoeuvre but failed. The vehicle’s traction control refused to comply leaving Gore and the onlooking crowd amazed.

“The Audi all-wheel drive system is absolutely exceptional,” said Gore. “Try as I might, I could not spin the Q5 SUV and honestly if Audi can bring that level of traction and control to a ‘regular’ vehicle, imagine Audi motorsports.”

Deputy chairman and ATL Automotive CEO Adam Stewart this week expressed his excitement that Gore and his team would be leading the fore in motorsports representing ATL Automotive and Audi on the local and Caribbean racing circuit.

“With ATL Automotive being the leading motoring company in the country and Doug Gore the country’s leading driver this is a marriage made in heaven,” declared Stewart.

“ATL Automotive, like Doug Gore, is not in the business of finishing second at anything,” he added. “One only needs to look at one of our showrooms and the brands we offer to see that. Doug is a racing legend and now with him onboard and behind the wheel of an Audi, there’s going to be some fireworks.”

Gore is now in Germany getting acquainted with the specially built DTM-spec Audi TT that will be on the track in time to kick off the 2011 local circuits in April/May.

Gore’s signature crew ‘Team MoBay’ will also undergo rebranding taking the name, ‘The ATL Automotive Racing Team’.

“There are great things to come,” Stewart declared.
