Audio guidance now live at Scotia ATMs
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Scotiabank Jamaica launched audio guidance at some of its automated teller machines (ATM) across the island, the bank said Friday.
“We believe banking should be accessible to everyone and we are proud to introduce that our ATMs now have audio guidance. This feature enables individuals in the sight loss community to conduct transactions with greater independence, facilitating a seamless experience at our ATMs,” the bank said in a release to customers.
To access audio guidance, ATM users can plug their wired earphones into the ATM headphone jack to receive step by step voice instructions to complete transactions confidently.
Scotiabank said in order to conduct transactions users should:
- Insert headphones into the ATM jack to start
- Audio and screen prompts will ask if you want the transaction screen hidden for privacy
- If yes, the screen is hidden; if no, it remains visible
- Adjust volume and voice speed as prompted via audio numerical/keypad options or touch screen
- Confirm settings, then follow instructions to insert your card and complete the transaction
The bank noted that over 280 of its ATMs have ATM audio guidance and for more information and list of ATM locations customers can visit jm.scotiabank.com.
