Clarks Town, Palmento register wins in Trelawny
HAMMERSMITH, Trelawny — Former champions Clarks Town and Palmento United scored their first wins of the National Rums of Jamaica Trelawny Football Association’s Major League, both with 3-0 margins.
After both lost their first two games, Clarks Town beat Granville at the Carter Centre, while Palmento blanked Invaders at the Elliston Wakeland Centre.
They joined five other teams on three points behind early leaders Spicy Hill (seven points), Kinloss (six) and Jackson Town (four).
Oral Cunningham scored twice for Clarks Town in the 38th and 84th minutes after Odaine Peart had given them an early lead in the fifth minute.
At Elliston Wakeland, Devron Clarke also got a double for Palmento, scoring in the 62nd and 85th minutes, while Karlton Drakes scored in the 75th minute.
Kinloss could take over the lead today, if they can beat Jackson Town at the Jackson Town field.
