STETHS in charge against YC in Headley Cup
NAIN, St Elizabeth — ISSA/Grace Headley Cup champions St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) were in total charge against York Castle High at the close of day one of their two-day semi-final game at the Alpart Sports Club here yesterday.
Sent to bat, York Castle were skittled for 73 with only Deethmar Anderson (34) putting up worthwhile resistance against West Indies Under-19 pacer Nicholson Gordon (3-14) and spinners Cassius Burton (3-9) and Horaine Linton (3-26).
By the close, STETHS were 241-9 with leading contributions from Vaniel Bromfield (64), Sheldon Samuels (57), Burton 37 not out, Crishna Graham (32), and Donovan Nelson (21).
Spinners Raghni Francis (3-72), Dayon Earle (2-35) and Tevin Gilzene (2-56) were the leading bowlers for York Castle.
