Nell’s Café – A Quiet Getaway
“A cosy corner away from the hustle and bustle of traffic,” is how Deidre Cousins, co-owner of Nell’s Café on Grosvenor Terrace, describes the eatery.
Serving a selection of paninis, wraps, soups and salads, Nell’s Café offers light, healthy fare with a Jamaican twist. Chefs Kemar Coley and James Daley try as often as possible to incorporate Jamaican flavours into the dishes they offer. Also offered on the menu are pizza, sandwiches, pasta and a small selection of desserts, including donuts, Black Forest cake and banana bread.
With indoor and outdoor dining, guests can enjoy freshly brewed coffee, juices or smoothies made from local fruits, and breakfast or lunch, as they hold meetings, catch up with friends, watch television or simply unwind in the lounge area. The lounge are features couches and a shelf lined with both New York Times bestsellers and literature by local authors. And It’s a family café too, where children are welcomed. And yes, they have books for them as well.
“It’s not just about the food,” shares Cousins, “it’s also about the ambience, the cosiness of Nell’s Café. It’s that getaway… that place to relax. And the food simply complements it all.”
