Pregnant Mariah Carey poses for nude cover shoot
Mariah Carey has posed for her fair share of portraits, but none has been as personal or emotional as the singing legend unveiling her baby bump — days away from giving birth to twins. Eight-months-pregnant Mariah, 42, proudly showed off the bump in time-honoured celebrity fashion — in an exclusive cover shoot with Life & Style magazine. Bronzed and radiant with her hair tumbling softly about her shoulders, the chart-topping singer looked relaxed as she awaits the arrival of her first children, a boy and a girl. “I was feeling very vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now, but then I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Carey told the magazine. “My ultimate goal was to share this incredibly personal moment with my true fans.” Carey joins a number of pregnant stars who have posed nude while heavily pregnant, among them, Demi Moore, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.

Ryan Reynolds lights up the screen in new Green Lantern sneak peek
The movie is not out until June, but already the buzz surrounding comic adaptation Green Lantern has reached fever pitch. Four new minutes of the film starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were released last Tuesday at comic book convention WonderCon. The trailer shows more in-depth and exciting scenes than have ever been shown before. Green Lantern had so far received lukewarm responses to the debut of the film’s first trailer released last autumn. But the newly revealed footage turned around the negative opinions of viewers who watched it at the San Francisco screening. Gossip Girl star Blake Lively plays Reynolds’ love interest Carol Ferris in the film. Her character becomes the super-villain Star Sapphire in different points in the comic book’s history — which she is hoping will be granted its own spin-off film. Green Lantern is due to open in theatres on June 17.

Katie Couric shows the strain as Scott Pelley is lined up to replace her on CBS
Katie Couric looked stressed out as she headed out in New York without a scrap of make-up on last Monday. The former CBS news anchor was showing the strain as fresh reports suggest veteran journalist Scott Pelley is set to replace her on CBS Evening News. Pelley, a correspondent for US current affairs show 60 Minutes, is said to be the choice of CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager, according to reports on TMZ.com. Couric, America’s first female evening network news anchor, is leaving her post less than five years after taking on the role. The 54-year-old anchor is expected to launch a talk show in 2012 and several companies are vying for her services, according to a network executive. Couric reportedly earned an annual salary of $15 million.
