JAMPRO leads trade mission to South Florida
JAMAICAN goods, including beverages, condiments, sauces, books and apparel, will go on show in South Florida this Friday, as the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) spearheads a trade delegation to the fourth bi-annual Jamaican Business Expo at the Sheraton Hotel in Dania.
The local companies scheduled to take part in the two-day event, which is organised by the Jamaica USA Chamber of Commerce (JAUSACC), include Sandy Bottle Creations, Jamaican Teas Limited, Patwa Apparel, LMH Publishing Limited, Trade Winds Citrus Limited, Coffee Solutions Limited and Sue Tru Caribbean Manufacturers and Distributors Limited.
JAMPRO’s Export Promotion Manager Berletta Henlon Forrester, said the event is an opportunity to promote Jamaican products and commerce within the Diaspora.
“We have producers in Jamaica who are interested in growing their exports and penetrating more deeply into Diaspora markets such as South Florida. The Jamaica Business Expo provides such an opportunity and also allows us to promote the value of partnership and strengthen our outreach efforts to the Diaspora community,” stated Henlon Forrester.
She praised the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) for supporting the delegation.
“JPS supported the companies that participated in the 2009 Expo, and we are grateful that they have decided to come on board again for this year’s staging of the event. This has helped us to ensure that we have a strong presence at the event and reaffirms the commitment of JPS to supporting small enterprises,” said Henlon Forrester.
She added that local companies who participated two years ago said that the event afforded them the opportunity to also do business at a consumer level.
