Naggo Head position for Champs assault
DEFENDING champions Naggo Head stamped their class on the opening day of the four-day INSPORTS/SWIZZZLE Primary Schools Athletics Championships at the National Stadium yesterday.
Naggo Head qualified for the majority of the semi-finals and finals which took place yesterday. However, they should expect stiff competition from New Providence, their main rivals, Spanish Town and St Catherine.
Action continues this morning at 9:00. Two finals will be completed on today’s second day — the boys long jump open and the girls high jump open.
The preliminary rounds of the Class 1, 2 and 3 100 metres will also be held, along with the 60-metre dash for Class 4 boys and girls; 300m for Class 2 boys and girls; 400m for Class 1 boys and girls, and the semi-finals of the 100m for boys.
Action will also be in the girls long jump preliminary round.
Coach of Naggo Head, Flloyd Coke, said his team is looking good, especially in the relays where he has qualified in 11 finals out of one.
