Violet Kickers keep semis hopes alive by whipping Salt Spring
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Violet Kickers kept their hopes of making it to the semi-finals of the St James Football Association’s Claro Major League alive on Thursday after a 3-0 win over Salt Spring United at the UDC Field.
The win was the former champions’ eighth of the season, moving them to 30 points as they stayed in fifth place, two points behind joint third place teams Little Miami and Montego Bay Boys Club.
Revelation moved to sixth place on 29 points after clipping Salt Spring Roses 1-0 at Albion, thanks to a late goal from Balmain Brown, who netted in the 80th minute.
North Gully Ambassadors continued to crawl out of the relegation zone after a 0-0 draw against Granville City at Sam Sharpe Teachers College.
North Gully are on 17 points, one more than Barrett Town, while Salt Spring United will be relegated as they are on one point with four games to be played.
