Granville, Kinloss register wins in Trelawny
DUNCANS, Trelawny — Leaders Granville and Kinloss were winners last weekend as the return-round of the Trelawney Football Association’s National Rums of Jamaica Major League continued.
Granville, who leadwith 28 points, rebounded from a loss to Invaders last week to beat Flames 2-1 at Sea Road field on Saturday, while second-placed Kinloss won for the first time in the return-round by outscoring Preston 3-2 on Sunday.
All three goals came in the second half in Granville’s win as Damion Adamson gave them the lead after 46 minutes and Ricardo Clarke added a second in the 83rd before Rajay Anderson pulled one back for Flames in the 85th.
Kinloss gave up an early lead to go behind 1-2 before two late goals gave them three points.
Ronique Haynes opened the scoring in the 23rd minute for Kinloss, but Beneto Lawrence in the 48th and Lenmore Plummer in the 56th gave Preston the lead.
However, goals from Wayne Waldo in the 71st and Warren Dixon in the 72nd restored Kinloss’ lead as they improved to 25 points.
Palmento and Holland are tied with Invaders on 21 points after wins over the weekend, Devron Clarke scored the game’s only goal for Palmento in their 1-0 win over Jackson Town, while Holland beat last-placed Classic, 4-1.
Romaine Lewis scored twice, in the 23rd and 77th minutes, while Stephen Bramwell in the 36th and Jameal Bright in the 50th, also scored for Holland, while Omar Hemmings got Classic’s goal in the 47th minute.
There were also 1-0 wins for Spicy Hill over Duanvale and Clarks Town over Invaders.
