‘King’ reigns supreme at Dover
DOVER, St Ann — David ‘King’ Summerbell Jr, driving his Mitsubishi Elovution 8 (above), dominated the first leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship at Dover Raceway yesterday.
He won all three races and drove ahead of the field from start to finish. In the first, he was timed at 1:21.010 minutes; second 1:23.426 and third 1: 23.768 seconds.
In all three, he was ahead of the Barbados pair of Mark and Doug Maloney.
Summerbell was elated when he spoke to the Observer. “I am thankful for the crew (Total), it has been a fantastic day… we have made a clean sweep for the start which we need to do. However, when I was driving and looked in my mirrow, I saw the Barbados team and I was a little worried and concerned about the teams’ (Jamaica) performance,” he said.
