Former Virginia Lt Gov Justin Fairfax and wife found dead in suspected murder-suicide
Former Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax reportedly shot and killed his wife, Cerina, on Thursday inside the couple’s Virginia home and then killed himself, according to a report by CNN.
The couple’s two teenage children were reportedly inside the house when the shooting occurred. Their son placed the 911 call.
The Fairfax County police responded to the incident sometime after midnight on Thursday, where the couple was found dead inside their Annandale, Virginia home, the report said.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis told CNN that the same firearm appears to have been used in both shootings.
He was also quoted as saying that the shooting stemmed from “what seems to be a complicated or messy divorce”.
The former lieutenant governor was reportedly recently served paperwork indicating when he was next scheduled to appear in court in the divorce proceedings.
“Half of America probably goes through divorce proceedings at some point in time and very, very rarely, thankfully, does it ever end up like this,” Davis was further quoted as saying by CNN. “So, very sad for this community…a lot of people who know the Fairfax family — everybody’s shocked. We’re shocked.”
