Brian Bennett-Easy appointed head of Digicel Business

New boss speaks on fixed line cost savings for corporate customers

Digicel last week appointed Brian Bennett-Easy as the new head of Digicel Business, the corporate arm of the telecommunication provider.

As head of Digicel Business, the company said Bennett-Easy is responsible for developing new strategies and revenue streams, and with the assistance of a team of sales professionals, delivering high quality products to the corporate market, as the company seeks to remain a strong force in the provision of business solutions in Jamaica.

“One of my immediate focuses is to help more corporate companies learn how they can integrate Digicel’s wireless services in their operations to help to significantly streamline their costs while improving efficiency,” said Bennett-Easy.

The most recent of these is the Broadband Fixed Line product which is being offered to Digicel Business’ corporate partners to enhance their current telecommunications infrastructure, he said.

“Today’s business world is about collaborating; communicating; talking with colleagues and customers, on a local and global scale,” the new Digicel Business boss continued. “But how does one ensure secure, high-quality voice connections? And how do you manage your calls, and keep your costs down? That is what Digicel Business’ Voice does. It is a great alternative to existing long established PSTN voice services and it offers traditional voice quality by using quality of service throughout the network”.

Digicel currently offers one of the lowest rates on fixed line, which means customers are able to realise savings of up to 50 per cent on line rental fees; 20 – 40 per cent savings on call charges and benefit from low international rates, he added.

“Our Business Voice product provides the opportunity to combine a company’s business mobile and landline accounts with us. We understand that when you’re settled with a provider, transferring to another can seem complex but we can make the process simple,” said Bennett-Easy.

Jason Corrigan, commercial director for Digicel Jamaica announced added that, “we are focussed on providing customers with the solutions they need, while helping them to realize increased savings. Our acquisition of Netxar Technologies, the leading systems integrator in the Caribbean region, along with the recent launch of Cloud Services which include Online Backup and now Cloud Telephony that is hosted at our Data Centre – Jamaica’s only Tier III certified Data Centre – will allow us to continue to deliver on these commitments to our customers.”

Corrigan added: “As a full service provider, Digicel Business will help organisations move their operations to the next level in terms of cutting costs, being more efficient and being more technologically advanced. We do this with our suite of Business and ICT solutions and all of this is underpinned by the highest quality customer service.”
