Scotia ‘A’, General Accident keep winning
DEFENDING champions Scotiabank ‘A’ and former champions General Accident maintained their winning streak in the 2011 Business House Netball Association (BHNA) Open League competition at the Leila Robinson Courts on Saturday.
The Winston Nevers-coached Scotiabank ‘A’ crushed National Housing Trust (NHT) ‘A’, 41-7, while General Accident also came out with a comfortable 33-14 win over WISYNCO ‘A’.
The two losers were suffering their first defeat of the season, having won all their preliminary matches in their respective groups.
Scotiabank ‘A’ started off slowly with NHT, but got an early goal. But in a promising rallying act, the losers led 3-1 before the bankers made it 3-3. It was Scotiabank all the way from there to the finish.
Meanwhile, former champions General Accident quickly went into the lead 5-2 and gave WISYNCO ‘A’ little hopes of making a fight of it as shooters Margaret Lawrence and Samantha Mundle kept the insurance team in front all the way to the finaal whistle.
The Open League continues this afternoon with eight games inn the round of 16 knockout stage, starting at 5:45 pm and 6:30 pm at the same venue.
