Necessary Luxury – Lisa Bell
A peek into my handbag (which carries everything but the kitchen sink) will give you a glimpse into my life and the luxuries which I believe are key to my optimal existence. Outside of my purse, the contents speak to the various facets of my life whether it is the ultra professional corporate executive or the more humbling wife and mother of two.
First is my BlackBerry Torch, loaded with all the latest apps, this powerful device keeps me “in-touch” wherever I may be, in Jamaica or travelling on business. Whether communicating with my clients, reading an urgent document for dispatch the next day, fielding a call from my staff or Board Chairman, or simply receiving a voice and picture BB message saying “I love you mummy” my Torch allows me to feel connected to my world.
My laptop and business card holder ensure I can be ready for that impromptu business meeting. My iPod Touch and gym gloves – gym essentials but even more… music is a must for all the downtimes. The iPod also stores pictures of my husband Stephen and my beautiful daughters Kia and Savannah – they keep me grounded and remind me of the truly important things in life.
My “multi-purpose travel kit” with make-up from Mac (declared favourite among cosmetic products), Dolce and Gabanna perfume, lotion and quick medicine kit with sinus medication and a band-aid just in case.
My pocket Bible with a bookmark to my favourite passage – Psalm 121- reminds me that I am a child of God; my life mantra ” the righteous will always be justified”.
Some mints because my grandmother said a “good woman always carries icy mints in her purse”.
