Duanvale, Holland look to extend lead in Trelawny football
DUANVALE, Trelawny — Leaders Duanvale FC and Holland United could extend their lead at the top of the points table in the Trelawny Football Association’s National Rums of Jamaica Major League when they take on Kinloss and Flames, respectively, today.
Duanvale lead the competition with 19 points, one more than Holland, both from seven games played.
Duanvale, the only team yet to lose a game so far, will be seeking their sixth straight win and will be up against the most prolific scoring team in the league as Kinloss have scored 16 times, one more than the leaders.
Holland, whose only loss was to Duanvale two rounds ago, will be away at Sea-Road in Duncans to Flames, who have lost their last four games.
Meanwhile, Spicy Hill scored their first win of the season, breaking a seven-game winless streak with a big 6-0 win over Friendship at Georgia on Thursday.
Damion Williams scored twice as Spicy Hill jumped two places to 10th with four points.
Spicy Hill led 1-0 at half-time before opening the flood gates in the second half.
Williams gave them the lead in the seventh minute before Steve Watson made it 2-0 two minutes into the second half.
Williams completed his brace in the 51st minute, while Oneil Samuels in the 65th, Brent Beckford in the 79th and Jerome Elliot in the 88th minutes also scored.
Jackson Town moved past Kinloss into fifth place on 13 points after a 2-0 win over Salt Marsh with goals from Romaine Roberts and Kirk Fisher, both in the second half.
In another game, Prospect Links and Clarks Town played out a 0-0 draw.
