Robbery accused to be tried next month
A 29-year-old man accused of stabbing and attempting to rob a 62-year-old man of $7,798 will face trial on June 12.
The accused, Lamoy McFarlene pleaded not guilty to the charge, insisting it was a case of mistaken identity.
The complainant told the court that he was walking along a road in New Kingston with a clear bag with the money inside. The accused allegedly stabbed him and made off with the money. Police who were close by gave chase, after which he dropped the knife and money and ran on to Trafalgar Road.
He was later held.
However the accused argued that he was walking along Downer Avenue when he was accosted by cops.
He was remanded in custody.
