G2K elects new leader today
THE Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) youth professionals’ arm, Generation 2000 (G2K), is to elect a new president at an extra-ordinary general meeting scheduled for this morning at the party’s headquarters, Belmont Road, Kingston.
It would seem that G2K is only going through the motions, however, as attorney-at-law and current executive member, Floyd Green, is expected to be a shoo-in to succeed outgoing president, Delano Seiveright, especially after Opposition Leader Andrew Holness introduced him yesterday at a post-Budget press briefing as the new president.
The G2K executive, including Seiveright, felt that the Opposition leader’s endorsement was premature and sent out a release following the briefing confirming that the meeting will make the choice today.
