Lauryn Hill facing jail time
Lauryn Hill has been charged with failing to file tax returns for three years. The 37-year-old singer — who has not released a solo album in 10 years — has been accused by a Federal Court in New Jersey of not filing the returns in 2005, 2006 and 2007 despite earning $1.6 million in that time. Lauryn was charged recently and could face up to one year in prison for each count and $300,000 in fines, according to TMZ. The Fugees star is due to appear in court on June 29. Just last year Lauryn found herself in a legal wrangle after her former fashion consultant accused her of stealing clothes. Company Via Davia Vintage claimed the former Fugees star took the majority of a “wardrobe of high-fashion items” from them after they agreed to provide them for her 2007 tour of Europe. She was also sued in relation to the tour for harassment and unpaid wages by Jay Gore, a guitarist in her band, who claimed she would insult the band while he toured with her. Part of the lawsuit stated: “After shows, Hill would demand that the musicians and road support personnel attend meetings where she would engage in a person-by-person critique and berating.” The Grammy winner gave birth to her sixth child last year.

Cougar love
Tyra Banks is rumoured to be dating a 24-year-old British boxer-turned-model. The 38-year-old America’s Next Top Model presenter has apparently hooked up with Robert Evans — an upcoming judge on the CW show. Tyra — who is 14 years Robert’s senior — has been dating him for the past month, according to RadarOnline. The pair were seen flirting away at the Palihouse in Los Angeles last week. According to the website, an onlooker spotted them canoodling over dirty martinis. Afterwards Robert — a 6ft 3in Givenchy model — picked up the bill like a true gent before Tyra joined him upstairs in his hotel room, RadarOnline claims. A source said: “He put his arm around her as they walked to the elevator.” A few days later they were spotted again, having a champagne brunch at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach while on a romantic two-day break. An onlooker said the chemistry between them was palpable. A delighted Tyra was clearly in good spirits, too — and left the waitress a $100-tip. Earlier in the week, Tyra tweeted a snap of herself with the hunky model, writing: ‘chillin’ with @the_robevans.’ Perhaps her new liaison spurred her to go looking for some racy new underwear today. For the model was spotted shopping in the upmarket Santa Monica area of Los Angeles.

‘I was really confused’
Her late father Michael Jackson would frequently make his children wear an array of masks in a bid to keep her and brothers Prince Michael and Prince Michael II out of the prying eye of the paparazzi lens. Now the King Of Pop’s daughter Paris has opened up about the disguises, describing that period of time in her life as being “confusing”. But in the Oprah’s Next Chapter interview, which airs today on OWN, the 14-year-old also says she now understands what her father’s intention was. “I was really confused,” the teen tells Winfrey. “I didn’t get why I was wearing a mask. But I understand it now — why my dad would want our faces to be covered. When we went out without him we wouldn’t be recognised.” She said that the mask-wearing helped her and her brothers live a childhood, which she describes as “normal”. “We had a normal childhood — including trips to the children’s arcade and restaurant Chuck E Cheese’s,” she explains to the veteran talk show host. While Michael was in the public eye from such a young age, Paris says her father wanted his own children to enjoy their youth. “He told us that when he was younger he didn’t really have a childhood,” says Paris. “He would always be stuck in the studio singing while the kids were out playing. He wanted us to have that.”
