UP-and-coming singjay Antwain (Antwain Johnson) said he is gaining musical traction and is slowly emerging as one of dancehall’s most promising acts.

The artiste, who hails from Bunkers Hill in Trelawny, describes himself as a ‘singjay with a difference’.

The William Knibb past student said he started his musical journey at 12 when he began listening to dancehall kingpins Vybz Kartel, Beenie Man, and Bounty Killer.

“Like most kids that age, I would often do renditions of their songs with the aim of honing the art of being a singjay,” he said.

Now in his early 20s, he has penned the lyrics to several singles including Si Mi Yah Now, Whine and Go Down, Step Out. His latest single I’m a Soulja, produced by Rocky ‘Rice Bag’ Baronette of Cash Bag Entertainment, is getting some airplay.

“My team and I have an ongoing promotion campaign for this single, so we are anticipating excellent results,” he said. The singjay said he is currently working on a host of singles slated to be released this summer.

The artiste said while it has not been an easy road, he is focused and determined to reach the highest level of the music industry.

“I’m working very hard, and my music career is definitely going in the direction I want,” he concluded.
