THE sectoral debate will resume in the House of Representatives today with Minister of Youth and Culture Lisa Hanna making her much-anticipated contribution.
Hanna was scheduled to speak last Tuesday but opted out with no explanation. The gap was filled by Minister of Local Government and Community Development Noel Arscott, who had been scheduled for the following day (Wednesday). Wednesday’s programme, which also included junior minister, Richard Azan, and opposition spokesman, Daryl Vaz, was eventually cancelled.
However, efforts are being made to get the debate back on track, so as to allow as many MPs as possible to participate before the summer break at the end of July.
Other speakers scheduled for today are Minister of Tourism and Entertainment Dr Wykeham McNeill, and the Opposition’s spokesman on urban renewal, rural development and local government, Desmond McKenzie.
