KINGSTON, Jamaica — Usain Bolt jogged in 20.16 seconds to secure his spot in the 200m final scheduled for tomorrow at 2:55 pm, focused and ready. The Olympic champion will vie to defend his title with teammates Yohan “The Beast” Blake and Warren Weir who qualified in 20.01 and 20.28 seconds respectively.

A confident Blake described his semi-final was “a walk in the park”.

“I’ve been working hard, all I needed to do was kick well. There is always a good chance (of winning the final), but mistakes happen,” he said.

Bolt told reporters in London that “it is all about going through as easy as possible. I am ready, this is my favourite event”.

Bolt acknowledged the fact that there are people who doubt his ability to repeat the triple gold medal grab he achieved in Beijing, China in 2008.

“That’s how people are. They are always doubting a champion. But that’s why I am here, to cement my legendary status. I am focused and I am ready,” the Olympic champion said.

Jamaicans are hopeful for a 1-2-3 finish, as the three Jamaicans dominate the 200m event.
